Southwest Montana Bear Education Working Group

The Bear Education Trailer is a part of the work of the SWMTBEWG. We tour around Southwest Montana promoting bear awareness and safety practices. We provide bear pray training, bear information, and more. This page will provides a schedule of events so you can see our trailer in person.

The Southwest Montana Bear Education Working Group is a collection of federal and state agencies and non-profit organizations that have common interests in reducing bear-human conflicts, increasing social tolerance for bears, and promoting the understanding of bears and their biology. Our partners include the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, Custer Gallatin National Forest, Wildlife Management Institute, Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks in Region 3, People and Carnivores, Wildlife Conservation Society, US Fish and Wildlife Service at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, and Bear Trust International.
