SIGE provides a way for those with special needs to interact with others who may have similar problems, a volunteer base who enjoy their company, partake in local activities, games, and other forms of entertainment. Field trips are scheduled every couple months to go to the zoo, police department or, during the Christmas season, caroling.
The most fulfilling part of the program is giving the young adults an opportunity to give back to those who are less fortunate through service projects such as: Feed My Starving Children or making fleece blankets for children in Haiti. These opportunities are used to teach the young adults about the importance of giving back to their local and global communities.
