Spirit Warrior Martial Arts Academy was founded on the core belief that martial arts is a way of life. It is not a sport. The goal is to build the person and help them reach their full, true potential through the physical training and mental discipline of the combative arts.

Being a warrior and knowing how to defend oneself is very important at our school. Of more importance however, is the growth of one's true self.

ANYONE can learn martial arts, regardless of age or gender.

ADULTS:
Weary of the typical strip mall taekwondo school comprised mostly of kids? Apprehensive of the ground and pound attitude of an MMA school? Neither of these describes our school.

What you won't find at Spirit Warrior Martial Arts Academy are 10 year old black belts, birthday parties or parents night out babysitting. You won't find classes run by "black belts" with only a couple years experience. The head instructor at the Academy is sabumnim Chuck Niemi, who has over 35 years experience, and personally instructs virtually every class.

What you will find is discipline, respect, and caring, guided instruction. The training is hard and traditional, and the instructor demanding and focused on the higher standards of his students.

We welcome adults of all ages, all athletic abilities, and any physical condition, who want to make major changes in their life, or lack the self-discipline to push themselves. We will join and guide you on a journey to self-fulfillment.

We also welcome martial artists disillusioned by previous experience. Tired of the "3 year black belt programs" and the easy rank advancements so abundant in today's martial arts community? You have our commitment that when you advance to the next belt, you will have EARNED it. It will not be given to you as a reward for having simply paid your tuition.

We follow the "Art of War" concept that the best battle won, is the one without bloodshed. We firmly believe, however, that when all else has failed, one should have the ability and confidence to defend one's self in any situation.

KIDS:
Our focus is on building self-discipline, respect and self-esteem.

Sabumnim Chuck Niemi has 13 years experience counseling troubled youth. Combined with his 20 years of martial arts teaching, this make him the best youth instructor in the area!
