The story behind the name is a simple one. It’s actually a nickname or term of endearment, Clint (innkeeper) had for Juannie (innkeeper’s wife) ever since they met back in the late 70’s. So no great story! Just a silly nickname that has stayed with them for thirty- eight years!
So if you were wondering , as many have, if they are situated in swampy ground or in a bog! The answer is NO.
Spongie Acres Bed And Breakfast is a newly renovated Old Kentucky Home Estate. The 14 acre estate, often referred to as, "THE MATLOCK MANSION", is a meticulously maintained, parklike property located in CORVETTE CITY, Bowling Green, KY

Only 22 miles from the TN/KY border, Spongie Acres Bed And Breakfast is conveniently located near all major businesses, attractions and fine dining. The Corvette Museum and Factory is 5 minutes away and less than10 minutes away you will find Beech Bend Drag Strip and Amusement Park, Western Kentucky University, The Hot Rod Baseball Stadium, Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center and Downtown Bowling Green.
