Spring Creek Canyon

Spring Creek carved the Spring Creek Canyon out of the limestone found in Centre County, PA.
Made up of 1,800 acres in the Nittany Valley Region, Spring Creek Canyon is rich in natural resources and hosts a delicate riparian zone.

At the Northern End of the Canyon sits Fisherman's Paradise, a hatchery run by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
At the Southern End of the Canyon can be found the town of Rock, Pennsylvania.

Benner Township is currently pursuing an initiative that will designate the Canyon as a Natural Preserve. Associated with this initiative are plans to establish public access "gateways" to the Canyon that will link to a network of hiking trails both along the Creek and up to the precipices at the top of the limestone cliffs.

Benner Township Supervisors ( http://benner.centreconnect.org/benner.htm ) met on August 15, 2011 to discuss the zoning initiative of Spring Creek Canyon.

Access is available at Fisherman's Paradise along Spring Creek Road as well as Benner Spring Fish Hatchery along Shiloh Road.
