St. Francis KCC - CCD

Our K-12 grade CCD Program introduces and fosters children and youth to a loving relationship with God. It has as its purpose to instruct them in the fundamental articles of their Catholic faith, to make them aware of the rich history and Tradition of Roman Catholic Christianity, to open to them the wisdom and truth of the Bible, to help them learn to make moral decisions following the teachings of Jesus and the guidance of His Church, to awaken in them the grace of worship and encourage their participation in the rich liturgical tradition of our Church, to enrich their prayer practices and provide opportunities to serve the community. This is done primarily through classes on each Sunday from September until June at an age appropriate level and in a respectful and supportive environment. These classes are taught by dedicated, young adult volunteer catechists who share their own faith journey and are in compliance with the L.A. Archdiocesan mandated Safeguard the Children and Youth programs such as fingerprinting and VIRTUS training.
