Welcome To St. Francis Solanus Parish

As St. Francis of Assisi used to say some 800 years ago, so I say to you today: Pax et bonum! Peace and everything good to you!

Welcome to St. Francis Solanus Parish. Founded in 1860 by Franciscan friars from Germany, St. Francis Parish is still in the care of the Franciscans of Sacred Heart Province. I am delighted to say that this is a very warm and welcoming parish. We have a very active faith community, with many parish organizations, an excellent parochial school, many and varied ministries, and good participation in the greater community of Quincy.

If you’re looking for a parish where you may belong, we encourage you to come here. Join us for our weekend Masses and I’m sure you’ll find that our celebration of the Sacred Liturgy is up-to-date, and truly alive and life-giving. If you are Catholic and have not been actively practicing your faith, we welcome you to return home. I believe you’ll find St. Francis a place that you can call home.

And if you are not a member of any faith community, please come and visit here, and consider becoming a Catholic by participating in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The process involves joining a group of others who are considering becoming Catholic, so there’s good discussion with others of what the Catholic Faith is all about before making a commitment.

As St. Francis of Assisi said, quoting the Book of Numbers (Num 6:24-26):
