More about St Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN

Welcome to St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church. We give thanks to Almighty God that He has led you here. Our prayer is that you find a spiritual home here and that together we can serve His kingdom with joy and gladness.

St. Ignatius is a parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. The archdiocese is part of the ancient and venerable Patriarchate of Antioch the Great City-of-God, and all the East, founded by the Foremost of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. Our Patriarch is THE MOST BLESSED JOHN X (Yazigi) who was elected 166th successor of the Holy Apostle Peter in 2012. He resides at the Patriarchal compound located on the Biblical "Street Called Straight" in the Old City of Damascus, Syria. The Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos is located at this same compound. His Beatitude presides over our Holy Synod, the Council of all Metropolitans of the See of Antioch throughout the world. The Metropolitan of our Archdiocese is a member of the Holy Synod. As children of the Antiochian See, one of the five ancient Patriarchates, we share a glorious history of witnessing to and evangelizing for the Holy Trinity.

The Primate of our Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America is THE MOST REVEREND METROPOLITAN PHILIP (Saliba), who resides at our Archdiocesan headquarters in Englewood, New Jersey. His Cathedral is St. Nicholas in Brooklyn, New York, the "mother parish" of our Archdiocese (being founded in 1895). His Eminence is assisted by diocesan Bishops who reside in chanceries located in various areas of the Archdiocese.

Our Archdiocese has jurisdiction over all Antiochian Orthodox Christian parishes, missions and institutions in both the United States and Canada. It is divided into seven geographic dioceses: New England with its Cathedral of St. George in Worcester, Massachusetts; Eastern with its Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Brooklyn, New York; Southeast with its Cathedral of St. George in Miami, Florida; Canadian-American; Midwest with its Cathedral of St. George in Toledo, Ohio; Western with its Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Los Angeles, California; and Southwest with its Cathedral of St. George in Wichita, Kansas. St. Ignatius is part of the Southeast Region. St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church was born out of the search of a determined group of individuals who desired to experience the fullness of God's Holy Church. That search culminated in the reception by Chrismation of its members into the Antiochian Orthodox church by Metropolitan PHILIP on February 21, 1987.
