St. Jakobi Lutheran Church

We believe that God has revealed himself to us in the Holy Bible. The Old and New Testaments are the inspired and inerrant Word of God and thus the source of our life and teaching. We believe that the God revealed in the Bible is the Triune God: God the Father created all that is seen and unseen and remains active in his creation even to this day. God the Son is both true God and true man and was born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus suffered and died on the cross and rose from the dead. He did this to save us from our sinfulness, which we inherited from Adam and Eve at the moment of our conception. God the Holy Spirit creates and sustains faith in our hearts through the Means of Grace, which are Scripture, Baptism, and Holy Communion. Baptism works forgiveness
of sins and gives eternal salvation. The Lord's Supper is the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ given to Christians to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sins.
