St. John Macomb-Oakland Emergency Medicine Residency Program

I and our faculty are strongly dedicated to the training of highly skilled, intelligent and compassionate Emergency Medicine physicians in this changing ACGME environment. Currently a four year program, we are proud to have received ACGME accreditation and will be moving to a three year curriculum in 2018.

St. John Macomb-Oakland is a two campus community hospital with a total of 535 beds and two very divergent populations only five miles apart. Macomb Campus is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PTCA, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and Accredited Trauma Center. Our residents also spend several months at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, where they receive training in inner city medicine and additional trauma. Two of those months are dedicated to Pediatric Emergency Medicine working with Board Certified Pediatric EM physicians. By the end of our program, our residents are extremely well trained and are able to function in any type of Emergency Medicine environment.

We are a closely knit group and encourage support and cooperation between our residents and faculty.
As many of our residents are from out of state, we also function as friends and family.
