St Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, LCMS, Pittston PA

We are a group of people who put their trust in God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and rely on His Word.

- We believe that we have all sinned and fallen short of God's Law and deserve to pay the penalty for our sins. This is the result of Adam's rebellion in the Garden of Eden, around the time of Creation, and ever since then we have all inherited a sinful nature.

- We also believe that God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into a world that was without hope to suffer and die on the cross for the sins of the world. Three days later He rose again from the dead in victory over sin, death, and the devil.

- We believe that the blood of Christ has completely washed away our sins forever.

- We believe that all who trust in what Christ has done for us will be saved.

- We believe that Holy Spirit is one who calls, gathers, and enlightens the church through Word and Sacrament. Through the Word and the waters of Baptism we are reborn as the Holy Spirit creates faith in our hearts which enables us to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. In Baptism, our sins are are forgiven on account of Christ and we receive the Holy Spirit. Also through the Word and the body and blood of Christ, the Holy Spirit strengthens our faith.

- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has given us a mission to reach out to people who are hurting and who don't know about a Savior. We have a good time too

- Our services are at 11 am each week, with sunday school at 10 am. Fellowship upstairs also begins at 10 am
