More about St. Leo Abbey Oblates

Saint Leo Abbey in Pasco County, Florida, is 45 minutes north of Tampa. The first Benedictine monks arrived in 1886 to begin work leading to what is now the first and only Benedictine abbey for men in Florida.

Historic Saint Leo Abbey has an active oblate program for all Christian lay men and women seeking to live a more balanced spiritual life — a life of seeking God.

The oblate program, how to become a Benedictine oblate of Saint Leo Abbey, and how to sign-up for the free email list of all classes and oblate events, are all described at:

SaintLeoAbbeyOblates.info

Oblates live in the world, have jobs and spouses, wear regular clothes, and live according to the Rule of Saint Benedict as their state in life allows.

Oblates attend monthly oblate-program classes (first Sunday of every month) and other events at the abbey for oblates.

The oblate program is led by and the oblate class is taught by Abbot Isaac. It takes a year of being an oblate novice before one is able to become an oblate of Saint Leo Abbey.

The formal ceremony to become an oblate is held once a year in the abbey church on the Feast of Saint Benedict, March 21.

Seeking God? You will be welcomed here.
