St. Luke Catholic Church, Indianapolis

Saint Luke Church seats 800. There is a sense of merging the old and the new in our church.The ceiling is sloped, with exposed wood decking.The walls are made of exposed native Indiana limestone.

A large glass window separates the church from the narthex. It portrays the scene, found only in Luke's Gospel, of Jesus in the synagogue. In Luke's Gospel, Jesus picks up the scroll of the prophet Isaiah.

"Unrolling the scroll, He found the place where it is written: 'The Spirit of the Lord is on me for he has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives, sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim a year of favor from the Lord.' He then rolled up the scroll ... (and) he began to speak to them, 'This text is being fulfilled today even while you are listening."
