St. Matthew's Lutheran Church is located at 405 King Street in Charleston, SC, across from Marion Square Park and next to the Francis Marion Hotel. Our Sunday worship services are at 8:30am and 11:00am; check www.smlccharleston.org for details.

The church sanctuary is open to the public during worship services, special services and concerts, and when a docent is available. Docent guided tours of our sanctuary are available Monday thru Saturday, 11am - 3pm.
St. Matthew's was founded in 1840 by German settlers and the services were originally conducted in German. The current sanctuary was built in 1872. It was rebuilt after a fire in 1965.
St. Matthew's is an affiliate church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
