At St. Matthew’s Nursery School, it is our mission to provide an integrated, quality pre-school education for children of all backgrounds and abilities. Our inclusive programs are designed for two and a half, three, and four year olds and expose students to age-specific curricula which include lessons in science, math, reading readiness, art, stories, socialization, and play time. Aside from daily classroom activities, St. Matthew’s students enjoy regularly scheduled “specials” such as music, gym and chapel. Library class is offered weekly to all students in the four year old and pre-K classrooms.

At St. Matthew’s Nursery School, we believe that students benefit from a dynamic early education. In accordance with this belief, we incorporate programs and field trips to enhance the learning experience. During a typical school year, our students receive visits from the local police and fire departments, enjoy a dental puppet show, and interact with an on-site petting zoo. Children in our three year old, four year old, and pre-K classrooms participate in several seasonally appropriate field trips.

St. Matthew’s offers an extensive selection of enrichment classes to children in our three year old, four year old, and pre-K classrooms. Move and Groove, Sense-ational Art, Science, Mathemagic, The Book and the Cook, Kreative Kids, and Reading, Writing, and Fun are popular options for both students and parents! Our morning, afternoon and full day class options, enrichment classes, and lunch bunch program can be combined and tailored to extend our typical school day and accommodate families with day care needs.

We at St. Matthew’s take pride in the relationships that we have built and continue to build with our school families. Not only do we enjoy and respect the time that we spend with our students, but we welcome the participation and inclusion of their parents. Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for parents to join in on the fun through our Holiday Luncheon, Dad’s Night, Mom’s Day, and our ever-popular End of Year Picnic at Everybody’s Playground.
