When members of the Roman Catholic Church encounter Independent Catholic Churches for the first time, they are often surprised to learn that Catholic denominations exist apart from Rome. Dominus Iesus
At the Vatican, on June 16, 2000, Pope John Paul II ratified and ordered the
publication of Dominus Iesus. This declaration from the Congregation for the
Doctrine of the Faith was signed and published by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger
(now Pope Benedict XVI) in August of that same year.

In this declaration, the Roman Catholic Church recognizes the validity of orders
and sacraments of Catholic Churches not in communion with Rome:
“The Churches which, while not existing in perfect communion
with the [Roman] Catholic Church, remain united to her by
means of the closest bonds, that is, by apostolic succession
and a valid Eucharist, are true particular Churches.”
“Therefore, these separated Churches and communities as
such … have by no means been deprived of significance and
importance in the mystery of salvation. For the Spirit of Christ
has not refrained from using them as means of salvation which
derive their efficacy from the very fullness of grace and truth
entrusted to the Catholic Church.

We believe that our clergy are there for the people and the people are what make our church not builldings, the clergy within The Independent Catholic Church help with the day to day administration of the Church and all decisions are made collectively. We feel that there is a need for a simple structure where the clergy work closely together to acheive a common goal and that is to spread the good word of Our Lord as his servants. One of the ethoses of The Independent Catholic Church which is to be reinforced by the clergy and congration and that is The Independent Catholic Church is Gods Church and we are his followers.

The Independent Catholic Church is a truly a working and serving church, with work and outreach across the United States, and the clergy are of hard working genuine Christians who are serving Christ in what they do.
