Stallings Memorial Baptist Church

Stallings Memorial Baptist Church was established with 23 charter members on June 25, 1899 under the name of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. On August 27, 1899 Rev. John N. Stallings was called to be the first Pastor . The first church was built in 1901 and was located on Chestnut Street.
In 1910 a frame church building and property on South Main Street became available and was purchased from Second Presbyterian Church . The building on Chestnut Street was sold.
The original frame building on South Main Street was torn down in order to make way for a new church building. The first worship service was held in the new facility on October 24, 1924.
The name was changed in 1921 to Stallings Memorial Baptist Church in honor of its founder and first Pastor.
Throughout its history, Stallings has continued to seek God’s will through our worship and service to the Lord. Two mission churches were a result of direct mission efforts by Stallings.
We are affiliated with the Rowan Southern Baptist Association, Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
We are a body of baptized believers who gather together for worship and Christian fellowship. At Stallings you will find a loving and supportive group of fellow Christians who minister to each other and the community through various programs and activities.
