STAR Center, Inc.

The Star Center’s mission is to help any person with any disability to realize their potential. We focus on enrichment, education, and employment, and use technology to meet these ends. We are located in Jackson, Tennessee, between Memphis and Nashville on I-40, and offer services often only found in major cities. For over 25 years, we have used technology and techniques to bring out the abilities of people we serve.

We specialize in Assistive Technology, Art and Music Therapy, Home Care, Vocational Training, Job Placement, and Vision services. In partnership with Tennessee’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services, we have a large set of training and evaluation services to help people with disabilities rejoin the workforce. We serve over 1,200 children and adults each year in more than 20,000 visits.

Our 30,000 sq. ft. facility employs 50 on-site staff, 100+ off-site staff and recruits specialized volunteers to work with our staff professionals. Our primary service area is the 21 counties of West Tennessee.

Our facility is dedicated to George and Angela Doumitt, who were the inspiration of our founding in 1988. We are accredited by CARF International in Assistive Technology for the Community and Employment.
