Starving Artist Greg

For as long as he can remember, Greg Justus has been pursuing a career in fine art. He can still recall as a child going door-to-door to the homes in his neighborhood, selling drawings he created. After graduating from North Olmsted High School (near Cleveland) in 1988, he enrolled at Kent State University. Finally receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1997, Starving Artist Greg settled down in the Toledo area with his family in 1998.

As a Maumee resident, Greg has enjoyed many artistic successes in the area, including winning the Jurors Choice Award at Port Clinton’s Appetite for the Arts in 2014, taking 1st place in the fine art category at the Old West End Festival in 2013, and having two of his paintings accepted into the Toledo Museum of Art’s exhibition, “Naturally Toledo” in 2014. Greg also donates his talents to help out organizations such as Cancer Connection of Northwest Ohio, The Victory Center, Children’s Muscular Dystrophy Association, The American Red Cross and more.

Along with teaching painting classes and working on many custom pieces, he continues to show regularly at local businesses, galleries, and many area shows throughout Northwest Ohio.
