Stillwater Valley Farm

We are young farmers who live on a historic, falling-apart old farm. It was previously farmed by at least 4 generations of family before us, but had been out of farming use for many years before we started again.

We offer naturally grown produce, herbs, eggs, and fruit in season (and out of storage when we can). We have added several more fruit trees and bushes recently. We steward many varieties of rare to critically endangered crops, especially corn and beans, and offer their seeds for trade or distribution to other seed savers. Also for offer are wild products in season, such as leeks, watercress, wild apple applesauce, dried herbs, and so on.

We are not certified organic and do not plan to become it, as we think it is an expensive and poor substitute for communication. We are full disclosure about anything we do. Our chickens are pastured/ranged on most any fair weather day, and are spoiled rotten with fruits, veggies, and bugs, but they have been vaccinated for common poultry diseases and we will treat them conventionally if injured/sick. Some varieties of seed we use may be treated, to help them grow in wet/cold spring soils, though we do not use GMOs. We will do as needed to stop total crop losses in years of heavy disease pressure. However, we try our best to go without any sort of chemicals, and the vast majority of what we sell is produced without anything applied from seed to table. No chemicals are added in storage or processing of any product, though we may use non-organic ingredients such as lemon juice in things like our jam.
