The St. James Fire Department is a rural all-volunteer department located in Northeast Tennessee. The department responds to an average of 29 calls per year, approximately half of which are mutual aid with 3 neighboring departments.
Department calls include structure fires, mountain and wild fires, possible rescues from a close-by river, and motor vehicle accidents. The population protected includes approximately 5,200 residents. Our district covers 18 square miles, and the mutual aid area covers 42 square miles.
