HOW I GOT HERE:
I learned how to sew so I could patch my own work pants that were getting routinely destroyed doing my metal work. I fell in love, from patches in Carhartts, to grocery bags, to small canvas wallets, to leather. It's become my new passion, and I've carried the same details from my rusted metal artwork to the leather. I'm not interested in perfection, perfection isn't interesting. I love the raw details, in this case the discolored, uneven, border left from the tanning process becomes a living edge, bringing life to what would typically be a basic tote bag.
