My Father ( Jim Gunter ) started back doing his art about 5 years ago after a motorcycle accident prevented him from continuing his career as a stone mason. First he started painting while he was laid up and couldn't move a whole lot. A few years later I moved up here and we had carved a few very very simple designs in stone to be used as ashtrays or smudge pots. I never would have thought when I moved away a few years back dad would have perfected it into and art form. Even still dad didn't think any of his art including his paintings were good enough to sell and he was only giving them out to as gifts. Luckily with a little convincing and a lot of help from my little sister ( Fawn Gunter) and I he was able to get into craft shows and start to make money from doing something he loved ( which honestly not many people get that lucky). Now I have moved back to learn the trade and help out with the more technical aspects ( such as creating a Facebook page) to help out the family business.
