Some traders or small time growers may try to sell their walnuts as organic. Well the way walnut fruit matures and harvested, the fruit per se never gets exposed to any chemicals. The Walnut trees do need fungicide to get healthy nutfruits. All Walnuts are shaken from the trees and swept on the ground to be collected by harvesters. These walnuts are then sent to huller for hulling, hand sorting and drying. The moisture content is reduced down to 8 %.
