More about Support Susan Lane Fund- Encouraging & Uplifting

In early June 2014 Susan Lane, an active and healthy 50 year old Female, suddenly contracted Strep pneumonia, which is a massive bacterial infection. From this, she also developed bacterial meningitis. She ended up becoming septic, from toxoplasmosis, a parasitic infection. Renal and heart failure has also caused her limbs to become necrotic. She has since then developed a full body bacterial infection, which caused her own limbs to poison her body, causing further infection and near death.

On June 18 she underwent a double amputation of both her left and right leg from the knee down. On June 23,2014, she underwent another double amputation on both of her hands from her wrists down. Necrosis and the bacterial infection has also affected her nose, causing major facial deformity and difficulty with breathing.

She has fought this Sickness, Infection and Disease with every ounce of fight she’s had. She has Miraculously overcome this terrible situation. She still has the fight of her life with many more surgeries ahead of her. She is more than overjoyed to be alive!, and will continue to fight this with the Love and support of her family, Friends and everyone else who has been there for her.

Since Susan has fell ill, her son Jay has been running their family business of 17 years, Flowers By The Depot 20 Main St in Natick, by himself as well as supporting the family home in which they own and the three of them live in. As you can imagine, the situation is very overwhelming to say the least. Susan and Jay's 3 year old daughter, Adeline, are in very much need of support of our community, to help them pull through this tragic and unexpected turn of events. Prayers, donations, patronage of the flower shop, kind words, a listening ear--whatever you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Susan will be in the hospital and has many surgery's to come, as well as rehab for many months to follow. Please continue to check in with Jay and see what their needs may be in the weeks and months to come. We are in need of help finding organizations and/or individuals who can help handicap proof the house and with a vehicle. There are so many things that will be needed as Susan continues on the road to recovery.
