Survivor Board: U.S. & Canadian Residential Schools

I am sorry to have made you feel angry and sad. If I may try to explain myself. About a month and a half ago I was visiting with someone who did not know about the Residential and Boarding schools and what happened to our people. I cried for days. I couldn't believe currently that anyone wouldn't know about this tragic history. Not only did this person not know, but they also said they couldn't believe that this would ever have happened. They told me that there is no way Christians would do this to anyone. After crying for days, I decided to start a FB page to raise awareness of this history and to show non-believers it is true. It is not the only history, the effects of these atrocities still affect not only our people but everyone, our whole society. I do not mean to hurt my own people. I just cannot live in a world knowing some people do not know and cannot believe these things are real. I am truly sorry for hurting anyone. Please forgive me. I want people who are survivors of the Residential and Boarding schools to submit their stories to my page or the descendants of the survivors to submit the stories they heard from the parents, grandparents, etc. I hope this makes it a little easier to understand my goal, my mission.
