Suvarnaphumi Thai Cuisine

Inspired by the amazing cuisine she experienced dining out with her parents in North Eastern Thailand, Chef Jinny's professional aspirations were clear at a very young age--she wanted to cook great food that elicited the same "good feeling" she experienced eating with her family.

After completing secondary school, she enrolled at Rajabhat University majoring in Culinary Arts. At Rajabhat, Jinny was schooled in the cooking techniques of the Royal Palace. Known for a complex interplay of at least three and up to four or five fundamental taste sensations (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy), Thai cooking was perfected in the Royal Palace and emulated by the population.

Jinny graduated with honors and went on to teach Culinary Arts at several Thai universities.

In 1994, she relocated to Los Angeles and cooked at a number of Asian restaurants; most notably Chan Daret in Marina Del Rey and Crustacean in Beverly Hills.

In 2010 she opened her first restaurant, Suvarnaphumi.
