A membership organization that preserves, protects, and promotes the artifacts and memories of the former residents of the Quabbin Valley.
For 75 years the Swift River Valley Historical Society has been entrusted with the artifacts and stories of the "lost towns" and villages of the Quabbin Valley. By 1938, the Massachusetts towns of Dana, Enfield, Greenwich and Prescott were evacuated and demolished to create the landscape that became the base of the Quabbin Reservoir. This reservoir supplies the drinking water for Metropolitan Boston.
