Switchback Grille Steak and Fish House

The Switchback Grille and Trading was founded in 1996 at the gateway to Zion National Park. Inspired by the majesty of Zion Canyon, Switchback was conceived of by Dan and Mike Marriott in hopes of enhancing the Zion experience for all who are lucky enough to make their way to this incredible part of the world.



Construction began in 1995 on a building that would house a restaurant, gift shop and package liquor agency. On May 10, 1996, Switchback opened for business and has been taking care of park visitors ever since. Switchback’s special blend of customer care, quality and attention to detail truly set it apart.



At the Grille, guests dine on aged, USDA Prime beef that is cut to exacting standards, as well as amazing fish that is flown in fresh from Hawaii. The Trading Company is filled with wonderful keepsakes that keep alive fond memories of Zion. And of course the liquor store features a great selection of wine, liquor and full strength beer.



In 2006, space was carved out for a new business - Jack’s. Jack’s began as a social club and has since grown into a great little sports grill where everyone gathers for the big game or to just hang out and have a good time. Jack’s is family friendly and serves lunch and dinner. Fabulous burgers, sumptuous rice bowls, fish & chips, hot and cold sandwiches and a full bar make up just some of the offerings found at Jack’s.



While a lot has changed since 1996, Mike remains committed to enhancing their customer’s Zion experience by delivering exceptional dining and great shopping. Truly, no journey to Zion is complete without visiting Switchback.
