Built between 1910 and 1913, was originally named The New Cliff House then later the Hotel Gilmore. For several years, in it's early history, it was the honeymoon capitol of Oregon.
Now on the Register of Historic Landmarks, and renamed The Sylvia Beach Hotel by owners Sally Ford and Goody Cable, it's a tribute to Sylvia Beach - owner of Shakespeare & Co. Bookstore in Paris during the 20's and 30's and one of the century's greatest patrons of literature.
