More about Taking Shape in the Berkshires

Taking Shape in the Berkshires is all about helping people realize their fitness goals via Personal Training and/or Group Fitness Classes. Jim Czarnecki / Owner of Taking Shape is a Fitness Professional who puts the “personal” touch back into personal training.

I have trained hundreds of Berkshire County residents and its visitors in the comfort of their own homes (or second homes) and at the following locations: Snap Fitness (Lee, MA), Bard’s College at Simon’s Rock (Great Barrington, MA), Berkshire Community College (Pittsfield, MA), Cranwell Resort, Spa, and Golf Club (Lenox, MA), Devonshire Estates (Lenox, MA), and Retro Fitness (Pittsfield, MA). I spent the first 19 years of my life growing up in the beautiful Berkshires and returned to the area in 1995 after serving 9 years of honorable service in the U.S. Air Force (both stateside and abroad).

My personal take on fitness is that there is no “one way” to workout. There are plenty of exercises one can choose to become more fit, but it’s my responsibility as your personal trainer to find the right exercises that will keep you interested – not bored. I will work you as hard as you want me to and maybe a bit more, while always keeping you motivated.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” I truly believe this and that is why I am more concerned about your energy level today, rather than what it was yesterday. Why? Because if you have more energy today, tomorrow will be easier to handle. If you truly give fitness your all today, yesterday fades away and tomorrow becomes easier. If you’re looking for a whole new you, are willing to put forth the effort, and would like to work with an energetic trainer – I’d love to discuss your fitness goals with you.

In closing, I’d like to share another GREAT quote I wish more Americans would live by:

“We do not stop exercising because we grow old – we grow old because we stop exercising.” - Dr. Kenneth Cooper.
