Historic Tam O’Shanter Golf Course can trace its roots all the way back to 1925 when Tam O’Shanter Country Club was one of the premier golf facilities in the country. The course was home to some of the richest tournaments of the 1940’s and 1950’s and hosted the best players in the world (check out some great shots from these tournaments in our photo section!). In 1973, as the property was slated for industrial development, the Niles Park District was able to purchase land north of Howard St. where the 9 Hole, Par 33 course remains today.
Niles Park District is proud to keep the rich tradition of Tam O’Shanter alive with fantastic playing conditions and an enjoyable layout for both beginning and seasoned golfers. The accompanying Tam Golf Learning Center is home to all our instructional programming, which is available year round thanks to our indoor putting green and chipping area, and full swing hitting stations.
