Our mission is to provide traditional martial arts training, guided by Christian family values, emphasizing safety above all else. Students will develop self-discipline, confidence, and peace in all walks of life through strengthening the mind, body, and spirit.
WHAT IS TANG SOO DO?
Tang Soo Do is a composite system that draws on the interpretation of an ancient, documented Korean martial art, with northern and southern Chinese influences. This extensive documentation extends over 2,000 years. Tang Soo Do provides a complete and thorough scientific theory to martial arts practice as it relates to principles of motion applied to the human body. Powerful kicks are a hallmark of Tang Soo Do.
WHAT IS THE INTERCONTINENTAL TANG SOO DO ORGANIZATION?
Grandmaster D. A. Giacobbe of Clementon, New Jersey, is the head of the Intercontinental Tang Soo Do Organization (ITO), which he founded in 1981. The Federation is one of the most respected martial arts organizations in the United States, having promoted over 2,500 Black Belts and 200 Masters worldwide.
TANG SOO KARATE ACADEMY OF NORTH CAROLINA, INC.
The Nieto family of Cornelius, North Carolina, owns and operates this school. The two Chief Instructors are Master Edward J. Nieto (5th Degree Black Belt, Master Instructor) and his son, Master Robert J. Nieto (4th Degree Black Belt, Instructor). Mrs. Nieto serves as the school’s Head Administrator and Activities Coordinator.
YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Master E. J. Nieto first experienced the martial arts in the 1960s and he has studied not only in Tang Soo Do, but also Taekwondo, Goju Ryu, and Aikido. Master Nieto has continuously trained in Tang Soo Do for some (25) years, during which time he has studied alongside such acclaimed Masters as Grandmaster D. A. Giacobbe; Master S. Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; Master A. Ricks of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; and Master D. L. Roberts of Glendale, Arizona.
