At Tannehill Valley Baptist Church. our greatest desire is to be able to place the heart of God into the hearts of people.
General Information
In 1827 a group led by an African-American slave, Job, started a a new church in the McCalla area called Roupes Valley Baptist Church of Christ.
The first building burnt down in 1840 leading the members to construct a second building that served as both a church and community school until it was joined with McAdory School in the 1930s. After moving to a new facility in 1940s, the church was renamed Bucksville Baptist Church (1949). The church expanded adding a new sanctuary in 1967 a Family Lif Center (FLC) in 1993.
This church has a unique history and has undergone many changes including changing its name again to Tannehill Valley Baptist Church.
The Lord continually blesses this Church and allowed it to relocate to a new and larger facility in February of 2002. Our facilities now include a worship center able to accommodate 1,000 people, a multi-purpose FLC (built in 2006) that includes a gymnasium, workout room, walking tract, Fireside room, Student worship room and several classrooms.
Tannehill Valley has a wonderful past, a joy in the present, and a vision for the future. Come catch the vision with us.
