Tara Burns' Trades of Hope

My mother gave me these lovely earrings and a cool necklace for my birthday. Inside the satchel that the earrings were in was this little card that said how those earrings were hand made by women in the Philippines who were saved from the sex trade. In the necklace's bag was a card that said it was made in Masese with a group of women that Katie from Kisses from Katie works with! The company Trades of Hope spreads the good news of Jesus Christ as they save these women all over the world, giving them a way to come out of poverty into a new hope of Christ.

Needless to say, I did some research into who they are, what they do and how they do it. I was amazed. The scarves, bags, jewelry, home decor all give these women a way to grow in a walk with Christ and save them from the poverty they are in. The redeeming value that these pieces have, because of what they mean, goes farther than you and me.. it is touching someone we may never meet and letting her know that she has value! I love that! And, the stuff is absolutely lovely!!
