More about Tateuchi Center

Tateuchi Center will feature a 2,000-seat Concert Hall, presenting nationally and internationally acclaimed music, theatre, and dance. Additionally, the 200-seat Studio Theatre (black box) will offer more intimate performances, robust arts education programs, and will serve as a venue for local performing arts groups. We have carefully designed Tateuchi Center to be a state-of-the-art urban venue-one of the finest of its kind in the nation-and a regional landmark worthy of the community it serves. The Center’s location in downtown Bellevue is ideal. Our design team is unrivaled. Pfeiffer Partners Architects are among the most experienced and respected theatre designers in America. Acousticians, Jaffe Holden, and theatre consultants, Schuler Shook, have impressive credits that include the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Boston Opera, and McCaw Hall. Tateuchi Center was conceived as a truly flexible venue, suitable for a wide range of genres and artists, and offering easy access to hotels, shopping, restaurants, and free parking that is unique in our region.

We will bring these new theatres to life by presenting a vibrant program of the finest regional, national, and international performing artists. The Center’s location, design, and technical capabilities have been engineered not merely to make it a tremendous performing arts center in its own right, but also to make it the “missing link” in the cultural ecology of the region. In addition to great touring artists, Tateuchi Center will offer a superb Eastside venue to both established, Seattle-based performing arts groups-such as Pacific Northwest Ballet and Seattle Symphony-and emerging Eastside groups as they outgrow their current facilities.

Tateuchi Center’s commitment to diversity in its programming mirrors the increasing diversity of the community we will serve. Our planning and design choices were guided by a core belief that a commitment to diversity isn’t merely “good manners,” but a deeply ingrained quality of character. We set out to build one of the first, great performing arts centers of the 21st century, distinguished by its having been planned not just for a new era, but a new generation.

Tateuchi Center will be located in downtown Bellevue at the corner of NE 10th Street and 106th Avenue NE, immediately adjacent to the Hyatt Regency.
