Welcome to Tawakal Restaurant. Located in the center of Nicollet Plaza. Tawakal serves up traditional African finest foods 365 days a year. At Tawakal Restaurant, every dish is created using only the freshest, finest ingredients. We never use frozen ingredients. We serve only the choicest Halal meats and seafood, vegetables fresh from the farm, and breads and pastries that are baked fresh daily.

Every dish made to order Owners Yussuf and Ifrah Shafie, are excited to open Tawakal Restaurant this Fall of 2012! As the owners, Yussuf and Ifrah envision Tawakal to become the best casual dining experience.

The Shafie family's roots stem deeply from Kenya, east Africa. The Shafie's knew few people when they moved to Burnsville, Minnesota in 2001, but it was always great food from home that seemed to bring the family together again. With friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and freshly cooked meals with tastes inspired from all over east Africa, you are sure to enjoy this memorable dining experience.
