Introduction: Integrated Warrior Arts is a combination system made up of two major systems, American Kenpo and Eskrima/Arnis de Mano. Essentially, the combined systems make it a Filipino-American self defense system. The goal is to teach students time proven effective self defense concepts with weapons (excluding firearms) and empty hands against attackers that may have a street weapon, grabbing attacks from front and back, and also group attacks.

American Kenpo: A combination of karate and several sub systems of Kung Fu that was developed by the late Grandmaster Ed Parker. His primary goal was to choose techniques and principles that were applicable to street situations during the 50s and 60s until his death. American Kenpo was taught to Master Rubio by Grandmaster Brian Adams from 1970-1975.

Eskrima: Taught to master Rubio by Gurus Dan Inosanto and Richard Bustillo. Most will recognize the name Dan Inosanto as he garnered fame as training partner and friend of the late Bruce Lee. Eskrima focuses on defending attacks from armed opponents as well as counter grabbing and locking.

Arnis de Mano Largo Mano: Taught to Master Rubio in the 1980s by the late Grandmaster Leo Giron. He was the founder of the Bahala Na schools of Arnis/Eskrima. Other Arnis concepts were taught by various Filipinos from family techniques that are very effective, especially when dealing with a blade.
