Tecumseh Lenawee's CHILD

Lenawee's CHILD playgroups are free and a great way to play with your child, ages birth to 5, and meet other children and their caregivers. There is a short registration form to fill out if you decide to attend, you may attend as few or as many groups as you wish. You can fill out the form at the first group you attend, there is no preregistration. Our schedule follows the Tecumseh Public Schools calendar and playgroups generally run from September through May.

Tecumseh playgroups are in a classroom at Patterson Elementary (401 N. Van Buren) on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10-11am and on Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm. There are painting and craft projects and various play centers for you and your children to enjoy, like trains and cars, manipulatives, play kitchen area/dramatic play, puzzles, a play dough table and an infant area. The Lenawee's CHILD entrance is at the double doors on the east side (enter off of Union Street, at the white picket fence) of the building, near the large playground. Please feel free to park along the sidewalk at the yellow painted curb, as there are few parking spaces.

We also have a large motor group on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30am at the Tecumseh Public Schools Administration Building's gymnasium at 212 N. Ottawa. The gym is outfitted with gymnastic equipment (soft floor, trampoline, balance beams) and many large blocks, ride on toys and room to run and jump. Please bring socks for you and your child, as shoes are not permitted on the gymnastic floor or equipment. The entrance door and parking lot are off of Shawnee Street.

Lenawee's CHILD also provides FREE Ages and Stages Developmental screenings, personal visits and Early ON referrals, by appointment.

The Tecumseh Lenawee's CHILD program follows the Tecumseh Public School calendar; we do not have playgroup during scheduled holidays/breaks or weather delays/closures and do not meet formally through the summer.
