TEEX - Firefighter Recruit Academy

The Firefighter Recruit Academy offers two paths to firefighter certification. The traditional face-to-face academy is a 12-week program of intense classroom and physical training with hands-on training held at Brayton Fire Training Field. The online academy allows scheduling flexibility through online training, which is followed by a 21-day boot camp at Brayton Fire Training Field.

Successful candidates excel academically, demonstrate teamwork and leadership skills, establish professional behavior and perform strenuous physical work.

Upon completion, cadets are eligible to earn IFSAC and Pro Board Certification in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Hazardous Materials Operations.For those seeking college credit for completion of the TEEX Recruit Academy, the Fire Science Technology Degree Program offers the opportunity to work toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through a unique partnership between TEEX and Blinn College. Traditional and online courses are available.
