Temple Missionary Baptist Church began as a mission under the sponsorship of Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Judsonia, AR. A group of people met October 25th, 1967 at the Arkansas Power and Light building in Bald Knob, AR. Bro. Charles Sellers was elected as the missionary pastor. Bro. Thurman Cossey was the pastor of the sponsoring church. On December 3rd, 1967, the mission was organized into a church. There were 37 charter members.

The church purchased the property known as the "Wagon Wheel" on Highway 67 in Bald Knob. After much remodeling and several additions, the building was used as the main facility until 2002 when a new sanctuary was built on the property. A parsonage is also located on this property.

Some of the men who have been ordained as ministers are: Wayne Sewell, John Myatt, Phillip Miller, Derek Collins, and Wesley Roberts.

The church as sponsored two missions: Bethel Mission at Augusta began in 1972 and Seven Springs Mission at Heber Springs began in 1978.

The church associates with the churches of the Stevens Creek Landmark Missionary Baptist Association, the State Association of Missionary Baptist Churches of Arkansas, and the American Baptist Association.
She supports the Missionary Baptist Seminary, Budd Creek Missionary Baptist Camp, and numerous missionaries.
