ABOUT THE CAPTAIN
Captain Steve Blazier has been sailing and
racing sailboats since 1972. He is a member
of Wheeler Yacht Club and a past Commodore
of The Muscle Shoals Sailing Club. He holds a
U.S. Coast Guard 50 Ton Master License and
is a certified U.S. Sailing Instructor.

ABOUT THE BOAT
CHASSE’ is a 1980 J-30, designed by Rob
Johnston and built by Tillotson-Pearson for
J-Boats Inc. The boat was delivered new to
the New Orleans area and raced extensively
in Lake Charles and Gulf Coast waters.
She was purchased by Capt. Blazier in 2000
and refitted. She has an 18 HP Yanmar Diesel,
a displacement of 7000lbs., draft of 5’5”,
LOA 30’, Beam 11‘, and sail area of 444 sq.ft.
