Social Media Rules/Facebook Posting Guidelines

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) has created some house rules around participating within our Facebook community to ensure we provide a quality and respectful environment for our followers and fans. Please read our guidelines around sharing information, asking questions and contributing to discussions; also how we will respond to anything that’s abusive, unsuitable or derogatory. All posts and comments will be reviewed and any activity that does not comply with our rules will be removed.

For matters needing immediate review or specific questions about your account, please contact us at 1-800-634-3600 during normal business hours. Or you may use our secure messaging feature within Online24. For your safety, please do not provide any of your specific account details or other personally-identifiable information within Facebook.

Purpose of the page:

This is a discussion forum for TVFCU and its members. While it is our intention to never ban individuals from our page, if content becomes abusive or inflammatory, we will remove that content and block the offending users so as to allow constructive and beneficial conversations.

While this is an open forum, it's also a family friendly one, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean. In addition to keeping it family friendly, we ask that you follow our posting guidelines. If you don't comply, your message will be removed.

Posting guidelines:

Posts that are blatantly off topic may be removed.

Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Posts containing personally identifiable information of any member or TVFCU employee may be removed. This includes, but is not limited to: names, address, telephone numbers, email addresses and personal descriptions.

We do not allow graphic, obscene, explicit, sexist or racial comments or submissions nor do we allow comments that are abusive, hateful, threatening, or intended to defame anyone or any organization.

We do not allow content that contains any suggestion or encouragement of illegal activity.

We do not allow solicitations or advertisements for any groups or businesses. This includes promotion or endorsement of any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency. Similarly, we do not allow attempts to defame or defraud any financial, commercial or nongovernmental agency.

We do not allow "bumping" content--that is to say, posts that serve to repeat existing issues and bring them to the top of the wall.

You participate at your own risk, taking personal responsibility for your comments, your username and any information provided.



Sharing content:

We love to share your comments and stories with our employees and supporters. Posting on our wall means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you. TVFCU may use or share the comments you make on our Facebook wall, which gives us the ability to share criticisms, ideas, comments and praise with employees and others.

TVFCU is very happy to have our employees ‘like’ and interact with our page; however, we ask them not to speak on behalf of TVFCU, provide any advice or comment on our financial products and services. These issues are for “one-on-one” communication directly between our customers and TVFCU and its authorized employees.
