The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is one of five agencies under the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The DSHS’s mission is to improve health and well-being in Texas by providing public health services related to health promotion and disease prevention, and emergency preparedness. The Department also regulates health care professions, facilities, and consumer and service products.
