Equine dentistry is a challenging and satisfying occupation. No two dental cases are the same and I enjoy the interaction with different horses, people, and places I travel. I'm lucky to be able to look forward to "getting up and going to work" every day. One of my favorite parts of equine dentistry is showing horse owners the whys and hows of a procedure that is so important to their horses well-being. Its not often that people get to look inside a horses mouth and see sharp enamel points, hooks, or waves. It is fun to show people the teeth before and after the dental procedure and help them understand how it will help a horse that is dropping feed or fighting the bit. Its gratifying to know that I have an opportunity to not only improve horse's lives, but also educate owners about a very important part of their horse's health.

My journey in equine dentistry began soon after graduating from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. It was obvious while working as an associate veterinarian at a general equine practice that dentistry was an often overlooked and misunderstood area of horse health and maintenance. In 1995, Carol and I moved to Fort Worth, Texas where I had the privilege of working with some of the best veterinary equine dentists in the area. My practice grew rapidly and I was soon traveling to many parts of Texas, especially the I-35 corridor including the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Waco, Austin, and San Antonio areas.

In 2005 we moved "to the country" near a small town southeast of San Antonio and I continue to travel from the Gulf Coast to San Antonio, Austin, Waco, and DFW areas. Continuing education is a priority and I seek out other professionals that are actively developing new equine dental procedures, equipment, and techniques. I look forward to meeting you and your horses as my practice continues to expand to parts of our great State of Texas.
