The Texas Girls’ Choir was founded in 1962 by the late Shirley Thompson Carter. It was Ms. Carter’s mission to develop little girls' lives through excellence of music. Since 1962, the Texas Girls’ Choir has had more than 25,000 members, age 8 to 18, representing 30 cities from 5 counties in North Texas. The Texas Girls’ Choir began with 16 members, expanding throughout the years to our current membership of over 200 girls.
