More about Texas State University - Falls Hall

Falls Hall is a recent addition to the Texas State University housing community. Located next to Blanco Hall and near Harris Dining Hall, The West Campus Housing Complex will mark the continuation of several new student housing projects designed to enhance the
on-campus residential experience. The complex is comprised of two residence halls (Falls and Sayers) joined by a community building.

Falls Hall houses approximately 290 female students in adjoining-suite style units with two double bedrooms sharing an in-suite bath.

History of Falls:

Falls Hall opened in the fall of 2014 and is named after Elizabeth Falls, who was a leader in the education field. Elizabeth Falls was hired in 1914 to manage the teacher training school and it was after her retirement in 1938 that the faculty voted to name the original Falls hall in her honor. The first Falls Hall, built on the southern part of campus had housed approximately 10,000 students over the past 45 years. This hall was demolished in 2012 and the Performing Arts Center was built in it's location.

The West Campus Housing Complex, comprised of Falls and Sayers halls, is home to artwork created by Texas native, James Surls. The piece called “Diamond with Nine Flowers” stands 18 feet high and is made of bronze and stainless steel. The sculpture resides in “The Contemplative Courtyard” which is centered on the space located outside of Falls Hall.
