In 1965, Alan Stillman; a young man living in Manhattan, who, in his own words, was looking “to meet Pan Am stewardesses”, founded TGI Fridays. Fridays began life as a public cocktail party — the first neighborhood joint to welcome both men and women alike.

A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as we mixed your drinks, TGI Fridays invented the single bar scene and if that wasn’t enough, also invented the Happy Hour.

For the past 49 years New Yorkers and friends from around the globe have celebrated every Thursday at midnight like it was New Years Eve, with craft beers and champagne bottles.
