Baron holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

In November of 2015, Baron created Thames CPA Firm. Prior to that, Baron was a member/owner of McArthur, Thames, Slay and Dews, PLLC, a firm in which he became partner in 1974.
His Mississippi State Board of Public Accountancy license is 1607.
