The Abbey

The Abbey provides an atmosphere for upcoming local artists and established touring acts to reveal their music to a diverse audience. We open our doors to connect all music lovers while ministering to the listener and player alike.

A venue in the heart of Cooper-Young district, that hosts all genres of music for local and national artists. The Abbey is a live music venue that boasts a musical heritage that is unique to Memphis as Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Two made their debut public performance in the room, before the then gospel trio signed with Sun Records in the spring of 1955. The Abbey continues the room’s rich musical legacy by establishing a market in Memphis for up-and-coming artists from a wide variety of musical tastes ranging from bluegrass to hip-hop and all points in between. On any given night of the week, our 200 capacity venue boasts the best local and national talent.

We are currently located at 1015 S. Cooper (corner of Cooper and Walker, Midtown) Memphis, TN 38104.

The venue is in the basement of Lifelink Church formerly known as Galloway United Methodist. Enter through the red doors on Walker Ave.

Shows are all ages, unless otherwise noted.
